WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
What We Do. Economic Development Agency (EDA) Workforce Development Division (WDD) is a public agency under the County of Riverside. The organization’s primary funding is allocated by the U.S. Department of Labor under the provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Riverside CountyWorkforce Development Board (WDB) provides oversight for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs in the county. The Riverside County Workforce Development Board (WDB) is one of approximately 550 private-sector leadWorkforce Development Boards throughout the nation and 45 Local California Boards. EDA/WDD, through theWDB, provides the fiscal and operations oversight of WIOA funds. Services are delivered through three America’s Job Centers of California (AJCC), six contracted Youth Opportunity Centers (YOC) and two Business Centers throughout Riverside County. Riverside County Workforce Development Board The Riverside CountyWDB acts as a catalyst to provide seamless services among various workforce programs and provides community leadership aroundworkforce issues. TheWDB’s mission is to provide leadership to the workforce development system in Riverside County by supporting economic development and talent management. This is achieved through strong strategic partnerships with private-sector businesses, local government, community based organization,
institutions of higher education and K-12 education. The WDB remains in a prime position to serve as a pipeline for a skilled labor force necessary for economic expansion and long-term growth. TheWDB has the responsibility as a convener, a collaborator and is charged with hosting community conversations to better align workforce resources and better understand the complexity of its regional markets.
