Healthcare Initiative As part of the comprehensive work done under the Healthcare Initiative, ongoing conversations with healthcare entities will lead to trainings for Certified Nursing Assistants, Clinical Medical Assistants and Community Health Workers. Future projects for the Healthcare Initiative include: • Incumbent Worker Training pilot in License Vocational Nursing • Training of Personal Care Assistants • Expansion of Community Health Worker connections and evaluations Incumbent Worker Training The Inland Empire has created policies and procedure, including forms and enrollment processes for Incumbent Worker Training (IWT). Apprenticeships The Inland Empire Regional Planning Unit (IERPU) continues tomake headway into regional partnerships related to Apprenticeships. We currently engage in the Local Apprenticeships Uniting a Network of Colleges and High schools (LAUNCH) Network activities with the community college system which focus on removing the obstacles faced by education and industry partners using the apprenticeship model and to present a ready-made product that employers and students can engage today. There are 9 colleges participating with Norco Community College as the lead. Partnerships and Collaborations The Riverside CountyWorkforce Development Centers are comprised of local and regional partners who provide a variety of career and employment services to a variety of job seekers. Career services and employment services include but are not limited to résumé writing, interview preparation, job search, career planning and exploration, skills identification and enhancement. Additionally, input from local industries and businesses is critical to develop strategies to enhance workforce skills, design business friendly processes and incentives, identify industry standards, and career pathway pipelines to name a few. The following is a brief description of some of the AJCC partners and services. The last section describes some of the collaborative partner efforts that have been underway to provide services to both the job seekers and employers.
