Youth Force Events

Substandard Buildings Removed

Neighborhood Enhancement Program Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are used to conduct Neighborhood Enhancement activities and programs including community beautification projects, community group-coordinated cleanup events, as well as adult and youth illegal dump-sites cleanup days, all of which are part of a comprehensive cleanup effort in low-income Riverside County communities. Activities and events were successfully completed in all five supervisorial districts with a total of 133 properties assisted, 41 properties currently receiving cleanup assistance, 21 substandard buildings removed, 8 Youth Force events, and 18 Enhancement events completed for a total of 760 tons of waste and 10,407 tires collected. Community Development Grants The CDBG Unit administers U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded grant programs including the CDBG and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs. Estimated CDBG and ESG Program Benefit Achievements Include: • 844,384 individuals and businesses received services funded through the CDBG and ESG programs. • 4,057 low-income individuals were provided shelter, rapid-rehousing, homeless prevention, and outreach services through the ESG and CDBG programs. • 13,886 low-income individuals and seniors received meals and supportive services through the CDBG Program. • 51,962 low-income people participated in a variety of CDBG funded educational, recreational, and community programs and activities. • 334,039 low-income individuals benefited from new or improved access to infrastructure and public facilities including streets, sidewalks, parks, and neighborhood, senior, handicapped, and childcare center facilities.
