Highlights Despite inclement weather the first weekend, the Fair was still able to finish strong. • Earned gross admissions revenue of over $1 million. • Earned net carnival revenue of $806,142. • Gross concession sales were just shy of $2 million, with the average for the last 4 years being over $2.1 million. The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival is an annual 10-day event that features some of the nation’s finest live entertainment including headliner concerts, monster trucks, freestyle motocross, camel & ostrich races, nightly musical pageant, carnival rides and attractions. The Fair provides an opportunity for Riverside County residents and businesses to showcase their talents, goods and services to the community. The Fair’s strong economic impact, estimated at $36million, is awelcome benefit to the Coachella Valley every year. WHAT WE DO • Featured nationally recognized headline performers at the Fantasy Springs Resort Concert Pavilion, including the Eli Young Band, Voz de Mando, Cheap Trick and War. • Jay Leno’s Garage returned for a second year to film an episode of his show. • Scholarship money awarded to Riverside County students totaled over $30,000. • County of Riverside Department of Animal Services adopted out a record 317 dogs during the 10-day Fair run. Year-round, the Riverside County Fairgrounds is also home to over 50 interim events annually, from square dance festivals and car shows to the 5k Black Light Run and the California Care Force Health Clinic. The Family Motor Coach Association Rally is the second largest event held on the grounds every January with over 875 motor coaches and approximately 3,095 people in attendance. Approximate interim events attendance for the fiscal year was over 38,750. With over 120 acres of land, concrete and asphalt parking lots, a grandstand arena and eight buildings on the grounds, the fairgrounds are a perfect venue for just about any event. • Over 250,000 people came through the gates in 2017. • Second highest Sponsorship year with $299,574 raised.
